"cover up at the national zoo!"
by geoffrey

on july fourth, 2003, we celebrated the independance of america, but also mourned the passing of one of the most prized symbols of freedom. a 21-year old bald eagle, the endangered bird that has come to symbolize the usa, was found dead in his enclosure at the national zoo in washington, d.c. this huge, predatory animal fell prey to an unknown animal attack. this is just one in a series of mysterious deaths at the national zoo over the few past years.

according to zoo officials, the eagle was most likely killed by a wild bobcat although none have been spotted in the area in recent years according to wildlife rangers. last year, another bald eagle died, this time because of the west nile-like virus that was sweeping the country. in january, a pygmy hippo and two red pandas died. the 600 pound hippo had seemed normal and healthy until it's unexpected death. the pandas accidentially injested rat poison.

since 2000, two zebras starved to death. a white tiger, bobcat and cheetah died of kidney disease. a lion died a day after a routinue checkup with a clean bill of health. two giraffes died of stomach problems as well as a seal. a healthy elephant and young orangutan were also found dead in their separate cages, with no explainable cause.

zoo spokespersons are quick to provide quasi-explainable reasons for the deaths of otherwise healthy animals, that is well above the average of other larger zoos. these animals are cared for, tended to by a fleet of veterinarians, and visited in droves making the national zoos one of the most popular in the world. so why are so many animals falling prey to mysterious causes? because the zoo is covering up the real cause of these magnificent creatures. one junior zoo keeper was brave enough to come forward, and under the condition of anonymity, was able to tell envasion.net the real story.

these animals have all been methodically slaughtered by another of the zoo's residents, the florida manatee. envasion first broadcast the truth about these vicious creatures in 2000 with our award-winning expose about how manatees are not the peaceful, vegetarian creatures that we were all led to believe, but they are in fact ferocious killing machines. ever since the national zoo aquired its first manatee in late 1999, other animals have been dying. they are found mauled in their mangled cages, dripping with sea water and blood. while zoo press releases have fabricated stories of diseases and wild cats, they have been hiding the awful truth and the manatee exhibit has never opened to the public.

observation cameras in animal pens has recorded a manatee, an air breathing mammal that spends most of its life in the sea, coming out of its tank, using its giant mass to break down the barriers around its enclosure, and smashing open cages to mercilessly attack and kill other animals, helpless to defend themselves against such an accomplished predator. this manatee has taken down huge hippos, a pair of giraffes, fierce lions, bobcats, cheetahs, a strong orangutan and a seal. but it's shining achievement has been killing tree-dwelling red pandas and bald eagles. as the video tapes show, this massive manatee can throw his weight against tree trunks, dispell their residents, and make quick meals of them.

this incriminating video evidence will never make the 6:00 news. as long as the sunshine state of florida controls a huge portion of the voters (remember the last presidential election?), even the national zoo is helpless and must continue to coverup the crimes of the evil manatee. meanwhile, the beast is nearly impossible to contain and continues to slaughter animals that even the mighty lion seems no match for. we remain under the flipper of silence, blissfully ignorant of the danger posed by these not-so-gentle giants.
