"the napster conspiracy theory"

Do you want to know the truth about the big Napster shut-down? For over a year now, the record companies have been successfully trying to shut down the MP3 music downloading server known as Napster. They intend on putting an end to Napster and thus endangering the welfare of Napster and those who use it's free services. |
"I want to get all the songs I could, now. More than before." Annie said turning white while shaking in paranoia.
angkorman: They will never kill file sharing. If not Napster, then....
heavy-metal333: Then what?
angkorman: Maybe the next thing will be jackster. Just plug in and...
heavy-metal333: lol :)
Despite the joking around, the fact that the record companies still conspire to shut it down makes her think that Napster is monitoring all that is downloaded; that it was just paranoia; that Napster was then out to get her as well. She thought that the more MP3s saved in the MP3 library, the first she is to go. They'll delete her account and all music that is there, she thought. "There's nothing I can do about it" says Annie, now feeling powerless. The record companies might be lying They must be covering up something. This seems like mind-control and so we look further into this happening.
As a result, Napster has been sued and was forced to shut down on a Monday in late Febuary/early March 2001. Mysteriously, Napster still is in use today. They say they'll pull off only the popular music like Britany Spears, but one never knows.
According to the record companies, the MP3s were planned on being stopped because of copy writes. Tom D., a teacher of an anonymous high school, says that the money isn't going to bands as it should which can be agreed upon. Bands do need to make money, However, those who download the MP3s off Napster say that the MP3s shouldn't at all be pulled only if the bands didn't want their music downloadable for free.
They still can't shut down file sharing though. Plus you can put ten hours of music on one MP3 CD. Easy enough to share with some friends... "Napster is still ok, however they sent a list of 135,000 songs that had to be removed" says John, friend of paranoid Annie. The plot and conspiracy against Napster must be stopped. Don't let the government hide facts about the Napster shut-down any longer. Learn the truth!
(editor's note 2002: rest in peace, Napster. we miss you!)
